1. Choose the Right Format
Export your design as a PDF, not a JPG or PNG. PDF files preserve vector data, fonts, and color accuracy for the cleanest results.

2. Use CMYK Color Mode
Always work in CMYK, not RGB. RGB is for screens — CMYK is for printing. You can even embed your ICC color profile for the most predictable results.

3. Set Your Resolution to 300 DPI
A high-resolution file (300 dots per inch) ensures crisp images and professional-quality text. Anything lower can appear blurry in print.

4. Add Bleed and Safe Zones
Include at least 1/8” (0.125”) bleed on all sides, and keep text or important elements 1/8” inside the trim line to prevent accidental cutoffs.

5. Outline Fonts and Embed Images
Convert all fonts to outlines and embed linked images so nothing shifts or disappears when the file is opened on another system.

6. Use Spot Colors for Foil or Specialty Printing

7. Check Layers and Transparency
Flatten transparency effects and double-check overlapping layers. This prevents unexpected results during RIP processing on digital presses.

8. Proof Your File Before Uploading
Zoom in to 100% and proof everything — spelling, spacing, and margins. Once it’s on press, changes aren’t possible!
